Our Approach
To transform the concrete industry by delivering substantial carbon reductions without compromise to price, performance, or producer operations. CarbonBuilt harnesses the chemistry of diverse, high-volume industrial byproducts to deliver the performance of cement without its cost or carbon footprint. By doing so, we deliver solutions that drive significant environmental and economic impacts.
Our History
Rooted in science, CarbonBuilt was established after years of Department of Energy-backed research at UCLA’s Institute for Carbon Management. CarbonBuilt showcased its technology during the five year long COSIA NRG Carbon XPRIZE competition, in which it was awarded the Grand Prize in 2021.
CarbonBuilt Today
Concrete products made with CarbonBuilt’s Reversa® Binder have been commercially available in the Southeast US since 2023. CarbonBuilt continues to develop its technology, product, and raw materials portfolio, as well as its involvement in raw material procurement, processing, and blending, all in service of expanding its geographic reach and ability to meet industry needs.
